Welcome

Welcome to the Department of Epidemiology and Health Policy Research in the College of Medicine. Our mission is to advance the scientific knowledge necessary to promote health and improve health care outcomes and delivery.

We have a multidisciplinary faculty including epidemiologists, health services researchers, economists, psychologists, demographers, biostatisticians, and informaticians. The department houses four divisions: Epidemiology; Health Policy/Outcomes Research (Division Director: Dr. Bruce Vogel); Biostatistics (Division Director: Dr. Keith Muller); and Biomedical Informatics (Interim Director: Dr. Mike Conlon).

The department also houses two research service centers, the Research and Biostatistics Consulting Laboratory (RBCL) and the Clinical and Translational Research Informatics Program (CTRIP). The Department is closely affiliated with the Institute for Child Health Policy (ICHP), a free-standing research and policy unit whose faculty maintain joint appointments in Epidemiology and Health Policy Research.

Faculty in the department collaborate with colleagues in Departments and Colleges throughout the Health Science Center and broader University of Florida community. We invite you to explore our website to learn more about the department, our faculty, current research activities, and our educational programs.
