Professional Bio

Dr. McGorray began her biostatistical career at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester MN, where she worked on the NIH-funded multi-center “DESAD” (Diethylstilbestrol-Adenosis) Project, which was designed to assess the risk of in utero DES exposure to young women. After completing her graduate education at the University of Washington, she joined the Division of Biostatistics, University of Florida, where her emphasis has been collaborative research. She has served as a co-investigator on NIH-funded grants in the areas of orthodontics, cardiology, ophthalmology and genetics. Other areas of funded collaboration include TB transmission and treatment, dental research, and special education. She is interested in the protection of human subject and has served as a member of the UF Health Sciences Institutional Review Board for many years. She also chairs and serves on several Data and Safety Monitoring Boards. She is active in the statistical community, most recently having served as program chair for the Section on Statistical Consulting, Joint Statistical Meetings, 2005.
